At our Breakfast Meeting on October 16th our President, Ellen Roth, spoke about club Goal Setting.
President Roth outlined the various categories Rotary establishes for achieving a Rotary Citation or a Rotary Citation with Presidential Distinction.
To receive a Rotary Presidential Citation the Club must achieve the following:
1. Support and Strengthen the Club (achieve at least 3 of the following)
* achieve a net gain in membership
* maintain or improve the Club's retention of current and new members
* achieve a net gain in female membership
* have at least 60% of Club members report their birth date through My Rotary
* sponsor or co-sponsor a new Rotary Club
* conduct a classification study of your members' occupation and work to align your membership with the mix of business and professions in your community
2. Focus & Increase Humanitarian Service
(achieve at lest 3 of the following)
* sponsor a Rotary Community Corps
* sponsor or co-sponsor an Interact or Rotaract Club
* contribute at least $100 per capita to the Annual Fund
* increase the number of members involved in service projects
* hold an event to raise funds for, or to improve awareness of, Rotary's work toward Polio Eradication
* conduct a significant local or international service project in one of Rotary's six areas of focus
3. Enhance Public Image & Awareness
(achieve at least 3 of the following)
* post successful Club projects with details about activities, volunteer hours, and funds raised on Rotary Showcase
* use Rotary's brand guidelines, templates, People of Action Campaign materials, and related resources
* arrange for the Club's members to talk with the media to tell your Club's and Rotary's story
* host an event for Rotary alumni and highlight corporate, government, or no-governmental entity and work on a project together
* sponsor a Youth Exchange student or RYLA participant 
It is possible for the Club to achieve a Presidential Citation with Distinction by achieving the following in addition to those activities required for a Presidential Citation. Included would be:
(achieve up to 3)
* achieve a net gain in membership of 5 or more new members
* show how your members are People of Action by promoting your Club and its service activities on social media at least four times a month
* initiate or continue a leadership personnel or professional development program to enhance member's skills and the value of their membership.
